“We’re in a crisis.”

How many times have we heard this from our elected representatives? We vote for politicians because they promise to solve the crisis, so they raise our taxes and give us more government controls but the crisis only seems to get worse. Then we repeat this cycle again and again. It’s been said that if we repeat an action over and over but expect different results, this is a sign of insanity. I am running because I do not see any candidate with a plan to end this insanity.

Four years ago, the incumbent single-handedly gave the Democrats the 2/3 vote needed to empower a billion dollars in new spending. Two years later, he did a political flip-flop by feebly trying to repeal his new tax programs but it was too late, the genie was out of the bottle. Now we face another billion-dollar deficit in the next legislative session. We trusted him before to control government spending and he failed us. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

"Enough is enough!"

I am running again because I am tired of politicians telling us that we need more regulations and more spending and more taxes.

Over the next couple of years my job as a legislator will be to build a coalition of statesmen to prioritize the tasks of state government, repeal egregious regulations, control state spending, and stop unfunded mandates on local governments. As a lame duck politician, the incumbent offers no plan except the same tired old politics. I offer a vision for the future.

It's time for change.
